Baha’i Writings

Prayer for Healing
Thy name is my healing, O my God, and remembrance of Thee is my remedy. Nearness to Thee is my hope, and love for Thee is my companion. Thy mercy to me is my healing and my succor in both this world and the world to come. Thou, verily, art the All-Bountiful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. – Baha’u’llah

The Divine Physian
The Prophets of God should be regarded as physicians whose task is to foster the well-being of the world and its peoples, that, through the spirit of oneness, they may heal the sickness of a divided humanity.- Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah

All true healing comes from God! There are two causes for sickness, one is material, the other spiritual. If the sickness is of the body, a material remedy is needed, if of the soul, a spiritual remedy.
If the heavenly benediction be upon us while we are being healed then only can we be made whole, for medicine is but the outward and visible means through which we obtain the heavenly healing. Unless the spirit be healed, the cure of the body is worth nothing. All is in the hands of God, and without Him there can be no health in us! – Abdu’l-Baha, Paris Talks

Buddhist Holy Writings

The planet does not need more successful people. The planet desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers and lovers of all kinds. When you practice compassion for others and yourself there’s a level of love, softness, and forgiveness that can come into play. This kind of positive energy contributes to love, light, and healing in the world.

Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.

Life’s purpose of Happiness can be gained only if people cultivate the basic human values of Compassion, Caring and Forgiveness.

And above all, may silence make you strong.” – Chief Dan George

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life, “A fight is going on inside me” he said to the boy. “It is terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil,
he is anger, envy, sorrow, greed, arrogance, self-pity, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other one is good, he is joy, peace, love, hope, kindness, empathy, generosity, truth
and compassion. The same fight is going on within you, and inside every person too”.
The grandson thought about it for a minute, and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win”? The old Cherokee simply replied “The one you feed”.- A Cherokee Legend

“There’s no death
Only a change in worlds”
Some Dead Indian

“Being Indian is an attitude, a state of mind, a way of being in harmony with all things and all beings. It is allowing the heart to be the distributor of energy on this planet; to allow feelings and sensitivities to determine where energy goes; bringing aliveness up from the Earth and from the Sky, putting it in and giving it out from the heart.” – Brooke Medicine Eagle, Crow

“Think of how quickly we could heal this world if more of us were dancing, singing, storytelling and spending time in silence…especially, if we were doing these things together, in gatherings everywhere…” – Anonymous

Sathya Sai Baba’s Quotes on Healing

Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings are geared for uplifting individual on to a spiritual path. The path that enables one to experience unity in diversity and lead a life with selfless love towards all of humanity.

  1. Sometimes even the sun is covered by clouds. But can the clouds ever diminish the effulgence of the sun? No. Just as the sun is not affected by the clouds, you too should remain unaffected by ailment and suffering. When you develop such courage, conviction and determination, you will not be depressed or dejected by any suffering.
  2. Speak without malice or hatred or envy, speak to comfort, to console, to transmit joy.
  3. If you do not like them, keep yourself away from them, but never abuse them. Any amount of good work done by you will be of no use if you do not identify and give up your bad qualities.
If you cannot be good to others, at least speak good words. You may not always oblige, but you can always speak obligingly. If you find someone suffering, try to help them. Today it is their turn, but tomorrow it could be yours. Always keep this in mind. Nobody can escape pain and suffering. Always tread the path of truth and morality. God is love.
  4. Forget the good that you have done to others, forget the harm that others have done to you. Such must be the love, the universal love that we must give to the entire humanity and once we give such love such pure and infinite love – there can be no conflicts, no hostilities, no strife, no hatred and no violence. This alone can pave the way to universal peace.
